Wrinkled cookies

I’ve been making soft gingerbread cookies for years but this year I’ve encountered a problem. They puff up nicely in the oven but as they cool they become wrinkled. They taste good, are a little tough and look terrible. I’m thinking maybe too much flour? I’m going to postpone finishing the dough until I find a solution.
