Just wondering how do you make the glass windows for the gingerbread houses?

clear windows on gingerbread

I have often wondered how the professionals get the clear look gingerbread house windows so that you can actually look in the house and see whats' inside...ie...tree etc. I am excited to know that it is gelatin sheets. But, how do they make it look as though it is actually part of the window pane and not just placed against the back of the window with icing??

Gelatin Sheets for Gingerbread House Windows

I just realized that another common method isn't on there: Gelatin sheets work great for that diamond-paned clear window look. I just added some to the aStore (Amazon store) on this site. Go to the Supplies Page:

Choose "Decorating Supplies" on the right, and then go to page 6.
