Can I store an unopened gingerbread house kit for one year? Is a shelf okay or should I put in freezer?

I've kept kits for over a year many times, but you should see if your kit has an expiration date on it. In general, the candies tend to go bad before the gingerbread, so looking at the candies can be a good indication of how the gingerbread might be.
