If you love waffles, you've got to try a gingerbread waffle recipe!
Our Favorite Gingerbread Waffle Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg, separated
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
- 1/3 cup chopped raisins
- 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
Steps:
- Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, allspice, salt and dry mustard. Combine and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat brown sugar and egg yolk until thick and foamy.
- Add buttermilk, molasses, butter, and raisins to the egg-sugar mixture.
- Add the dry ingredients to the batter and stir until moistened.
- In a small bowl, beat egg white and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
- Bake in a waffle iron until golden brown.
- Enjoy with syrup, whipped cream, and/or fruit!
Simple Gingerbread Waffle Recipe

- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Steps:
- Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions.
- In a bowl, sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda, and salt. Combine and set aside.
- In a large bowl, Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy.
- Add buttermilk, molasses, and melted butter.
- Add the dry ingredients to the batter and stir until just combined.
- Bake in a waffle iron until golden brown.
- Enjoy with syrup, whipped cream, and/or fruit!
