Ginger Sauce Recipes

These asian-inspired ginger sauce recipes make any dish delicious. Perfect for marinades, dipping sauces, or even salad dressings, if you LOVE ginger, you'll LOVE these ginger sauces!

This sesame sauce is terrific for sauteeing meats or vegetables or can also be used as a dipping sauce.


Sesame Ginger Sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ teaspoons Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce (low-sodium is ideal)
  • 1 Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • ¼ teaspoon Fresh Ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar (optional)
  • Cornstarch (optional for thickening)

Steps:

  1. Mix all ingredients together and whisk.
  2. Add sugar for a sweeter taste and/or add cornstarch to make thicker (for dipping sauce.)

Pretty easy, huh?




Wonderful dipping sauce or marinade for beef, chicken, shrimp, vegetables, or just about anything. This sauce is very similar to a hibachi sauce from a japanese steakhouse. It also makes a great salad dressing.

Ginger Dipping Sauce:

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup Lemon Juice
  • ¼ cup Soy Sauce
  • ¼ cup Onion, chopped
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh Ginger, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon White Vinegar
  • Cornstarch (optional for thickening)

Steps:

  1. Mix all ingredients together in blender until smooth.
  2. Add cornstarch to thicken if necessary.



This asian-inspired ginger lime dipping sauce is perfect for eggrolls or chinese dumplings, chicken, or seafood. Also makes a terrific salad dressing.

Ginger Lime Sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 2 tablespoons Lime Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Fish Sauce
  • ½ teaspoon ground Ginger
  • ½ teaspoon hot Red Pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh Cilantro, for garnish

Steps:

  1. Mix all ingredients together.

Tips:

  • Fish sauce, made from anchovies, can be found in Asian markets or, sometimes, in the international section of your regular grocery store. If you can't find it, use soy sauce instead (plus anchovies for an even closer substitute.)



Ginger Lime Sauce II:

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tablespoons Water
  • 4 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Lime Juice
  • 1 teaspoon White Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh or ground Ginger
  • 2 teaspoons minced Garlic
  • 2 teaspoons ground Chilis
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1-2 teaspoons Corn Starch

Steps:

  1. Mix all ingredients together until smooth.
  2. Chill overnight in refrigerator for best results.

Tips:

  • Add balsamic vinegar for salad dressing.



Wasabi adds an extra kick to any ginger sauce. This one's especially good for marinading fishes like tuna or as a dipping sauce for chicken, vegetables, egg rolls,... but it's certainly NOT low-fat!

Wasabi Ginger Sauce:

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Wasabi powder (horseradish powder)
  • 1/3 cup Soy Sauce (reduced-sodium is best)
  • 2 Tablespoons Peanut Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Dry Sherry
  • 1½ teaspoons Sesame Oil
  • 1½ teaspoons fresh Ginger, minced
  • 4 Green Onions, finely sliced

Steps:

  1. Mix water and wasabi powder in medium bowl and whisk. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
